Hi, I am Lisa the owner of The Beauty Lab and fully qualified level 3 beauty therapist.

I have been in the beauty industry for 20 years and i am highly experienced in all areas of beauty.

I launched my first salon in 2013 (click here to visit Beauty Boutiques website) in my home town of Huddersfield, which is still thriving with a strong team of therapists and relocated to York over 9 years ago to live with my Husband.

I feel like it was time to bring my high standards and my modern salon interior to York after noticing a gap in the market in the York suburbs.

I have a passion and experience in all beauty treatments but my main focus in York will be skincare, massage, lash/brows and waxing. This is something I have a wealth of knowledge and understanding to help skin concerns, from acne to pre wedding prep.

So… where have I been?
Well, I thought I’d make life really interesting: I opened The Beauty Lab in Sept 2023 while pregnant (who doesn’t love a challenge, right?). I managed 7 lovely months treating clients before maternity leave started in March 2024.

The plan? Come back sooner.
The reality? Life had other ideas 👇
• Nursery only started in April 2025 (these places are like gold dust!)
• Over at my other salon @beauty.boutique.clinic , we had a few staff changes, including my long term salon manager moving away! That meant I had to jump back in, recruit, train and keep the ship sailing through the busiest summer months.

Fast forward to now: the team is amazing, the chaos is under control and I finally get to be back in York again 🎉
